15 weeks

Maybe it's denial, but I think the cut of this dress makes me look more pregnant than I am.

How Far Along:  15weeks
Baby Size:  Navel Orange, 4.5" long,
Total Weight Gain: 4 lbs
Maternity Clothes:  So about this, I have bought some, but don't feel like I'm quite round enough for them, but I can't really wear many of my pants anymore with out the belly band.  Maternity clothes are definitely in my near future though.  I'm mostly sticking to sun dresses these days.
Best Moment This Week: Got a little cleaning done this week, making me feel good that the house is mostly in order
Gender:  Not a clue, but Intelligender says boy
Movement:  None that I've been able to feel
Food Cravings:  No cravings really this week, but my sweet husband has developed an uncanny 6th sense, whatever I am planning on eating he eats before he goes to work or takes it for lunch. Poor Baby O, can't get a good meal :)
What I miss:  My love of peanut butter...It just hasn't been the same since pregnancy.
Sleep:  Most nights I get a pretty restful sleep, I wish I could sleep on my stomach though.
What I am looking forward to:  Finding out gender, hoping we will know at 18 weeks.
Belly Button:  IN (Hallerlujah! as Mediah would say)

*Sorry for the tardiness of this post, it's been ready for several days, just haven't been able to get my computer to cooperate.

It's A Boy...or Is It?

Hmmm...I love surprises, a real surprise that is.  You know the one that you don't know you're getting, a total OMG, out-of-the-blue surprise.  You know what I'm sayin'?  Anyway, if I know I'm getting a surprise, but don't know what the surprise is well, that's when I go a little Twanda.  So this whole baby thing has me totally stoked, but the fact that I don't know the gender of this precious bundle of joy that's making my clothes not fit (the things you do for your children), is driving me nuts.  So Steve and I thought to pass the time we would take a little test called the Intelligender. It claims that it can tell you what the gender of your baby is based on your hormone levels.  Hmmm...it's not 100% accurate and the instructions tell you not to paint the nursery pink or blue based on the results of the test.  The thought of doing nothing got to us, so I put the Intelligender in my Amazon cart and I "tinkled" in a cup and the results say.......

BOY!
Again, we haven't made any nursery plans or bought boy blue clothes, but it was fun just to do.  Only time will tell whether the Intelligender is really that "Intelli" or not :)

Have a good daisy!

Steve's First Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful Steve, the best daddy-to-be I know!  Father's day was a bit of a surprise to him, I won't share here because he'll say this a blog for me to make fun of him :) (love you hon), but anyway I got him a box for the newspaper and another little surprise.  He got his newspaper box a little early and our paper carrier has yet to put the paper in the box.  Haven't figured this one out yet, it's big, it's red, and it's begging for a paper to be put in it.  Anyway, I digress...Steve woke up to one of his favorite breakfasts

Ham and Cheese Omellette

Lookie what the paper boy brought :)
I then sent him to get the paper out of the new paper box (I put the paper there myself) and he found a little surprise. He asked what it was when he came in and I simply said, "Funny."  He opened and had a good laugh.  You see, I had been teasing my Steve about getting him nose trimmers for father's day, and well you just wouldn't imagine, but that is exactly what he found.

Exactly what every man needs :)

Happy First Father's Day Stevie Lee, hope we have many many more!

Week 14

(please excuse the crummy picture; we couldn't get the lighting right)

How Far Along:  14 weeks
Baby Size:  Lemon, a whopping 3" and around 1.5 oz
Total Weight Gain: 4 lbs (It's funny how 4lbs in one place looks like so much more)
Maternity Clothes:  None yet, thank goodness.  I want to make it as long as I can in normal clothes
Best Moment This Week: Spending the week with my sweet niece and nephew and them asking pretty much everyday about the baby
Gender:  Not a clue
Movement:  None that I've been able to feel
Food Cravings:  Anything with Avocado
What I miss:  Sleeping without having to go to the potty 4-5 times a night, and being able to go all day without needing a nap to make it through
Sleep:  Most nights I get a pretty restful sleep, but having trouble getting comfortable lately.
What I am looking forward to:  Finding out gender, hoping we will now at 18 weeks.  We've bought an "at-home" gender test, just for fun (not very accurate, but something to help pass the time).
Belly Button:  IN

Pregnancy So Far

So, if you don't know already, we're pregnant. Yay!  Anyway, as a record for me and my sweet little bundle of joy  I've been meaning to chronicle our journey to D-Day (due date :)) Well, we're already to week 13 and I have yet to start this so I figured if I'm gonna, I better.  I'm going to just sum up the first trimester and then I'll do a weekly post.  I'm "stealing" my weekly post format from a friend of friend whose blog I enjoy reading.

Pregnancy so Far:

  • 13 weeks 3 days
  • Not totally sure about weight gain, but I think I'm around 3-4lbs gained
  • No maternity clothes yet, I don't really look "pregnant" just like I can't back away from the table.  I do have to wear the little band with some of my pants and bought a couple of things a size bigger.
  • Cravings?  Um, I haven't really craved things...oh what I am I saying.  I have eaten the heck out of some avocado.  I could eat it on just about everything.
  • I must say compared to what some people say the experience during their 1st trimester I was very lucky. I was very nauseous the first 2-3 weeks and then I have just the occasional bout of nausea.  When I have it, it's miserable, but most days I'm good.  Now the exhaustion is crazy!  I'm so glad that summer came when it did.  Daily naps are a must around my house.
  • I think the thing I'm looking forward to the most right now is finding out the gender...I can't wait to get to decorate :)  But for now, I guess I should just clean out.
  • We are crazy excited, and I'm sure this will be an interesting journey. My favorite phrase has been, "Honey, I'm pregnant.  Could you __________________?"  I've also explained that he pretty much will owe me for the rest of our lives :)

That is What Little Boys are Made Of!

So WAY back in March, my friends and I hosted a baby shower for these two special people.
Some of the besties in the whole wide world, Alyssa and Chris.

Our theme was "Snips and Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails."
This shower had a little bit of a vintage flair, which is totally my thang!  Needless to say the 3 of us went crazy with this one.  There was some grass growin', wood cuttin', and lemonade sippin'!

The shower turned out beautifully if I do say so myself.  To sum it up simply,
"A good time was had by all."
(special thanks to Haven who put these pics here for me ;))
