Movement

So, this post is totally for me.  If you're reading I hope you enjoy, but please don't be disappointed.  Tonight I'm sitting on the couch watching a movie (husband is working nights), and I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of God's faith in me.  Their is a sweet baby boy inside my tummy who is moving all around, in fact, I feel like there is a bag of popcorn being microwaved in there.  You know, sometimes I think I get totally caught up in the idea that I am the only one that is to have faith, but our Father has faith in us too.  He trusts Steve and me enough to parent His precious child.  Kind of humbling if you ask me.  My prayer for our family is that Steve and I will be parents who follow the will of our Creator.  Thank you God for trusting us, may You be our guide.

Table Manners

You know, down here in the south we may talk a little bit slower, but you know our Mama's teach us our manners.  Well, after I saw this little advertisement that showed like a fourth of a piece of an artwork that inspired this little bit of loveliness.  It reminded me fondly of hearing my mother pound  gently encourage good table manners into part of our everyday life.  So being from the south and recollecting these very phrases coming from the mouth of my darling mother, and yes, Haven, from my many experiences in 4-H when we were expected to go on our trips and dine as if we had a little class and didn't hop off the bus without shoes on, this little gem was born.

I must say she is cute, Steve even commented that he REALLY liked it.  I must admit, I have caught myself staring across the living room and looking at the buffet to admire.  It's funny how a few little words can remind you of a "sweet spot" in your past.  And thank you mother for teaching me how to be polite at the dinner table, it has indeed come in handy...who would have known?

The Reveal

Captains of Team Oglesby :)
Last Wednesday, Steve and I headed to the Doc's office for "THE" ultrasound.  The ultrasound came not a day to early, Daddy-O was about to drive me crazy.  We were excited to find out what they had to say.  Although, we did get a little nervous when sweet Baby-O crossed those legs trying to keep the gender a mystery.

Boy or Girl, What Do You Think?
When our guests arrived they cast there vote as to whether we would be having a baby girl or baby boy.  They picked a pink or blue sticky note and wrote a name "suggestion."  The following pics are of the "crew" suffering through dinner waiting for us to spill the beans.  I like to call that an anticipation builder.

Oglesby Grands

Proud Aunt, Uncle, & Cousin Erin

Annie & Li'l Aaron
Big CJ Dressed for the Occasion

Crowd Favorite says Boy

My favorite name "suggestion" came from Li'l Aaron, Johnny Depp

Secret is in the cupcakes
To reveal the gender I stuffed cupcakes with colored icing...No I'm not telling you yet, you'll have to wait until the next picture :)  We gave everyone their cupcake with strict orders not to bite in until the ok was given.  My older sister and kids were brought to our house via iChat.  And the countdown began, everyone bite in 3...2...1....

Come on you know you are enjoying the suspense (keep scrolling)

And Majority Wins!!  It's a Boy!

Watermelon

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm pregnant.  Which may or may not be exciting to you, I don't know.  But it does mean that I spent most of may to July taking one nap after another.  So one day when getting ready to take a nap I was checking out one of my favorite sites One Pretty Thing and saw a little post for a watermelon door hanger.  Since I hadn't changed out the door hanger on our front door since Easter (please don't judge), and I thought this was incredibly cute, I thought I would just have to make one to hang out on our door for the rest of the summer.  I added the ric rac to mine and I think mine is a little bigger, but it was super easy, super cute, and a little different.  Love it!  Now that I have the weeds pulled from the flower beds in the front yard, you actually notice the door.  Makes me take my time as I pull in the driveway, just so I can look at it.  Have a good daisy!

Future Fireman & Woman of America

Two of my favorite little people visited this past week, and little man has a slight obsession love for fire trucks.  So we decided to call up our good friend Josh, who happens to be a fireman and get a tour of one of the local stations. Allie was beside herself and was just excited about everything. Aaron was in love, but was only interested in sitting in the fire trucks and pretending to drive. So much so that we had to make him get out.  A good time was had by all, and a little bribe of going to McDonald's was used to get them to leave.  Thanks fireman Josh for showing us around.
