You Might Be Pregnant If Top Ten List

You might be pregnant if...

1.  People look at your belly before your face.
2.  You can't find your cell phone and it is sitting in your lap.
3.  The effort of putting on your tennis shoes is more than that of the workout itself.
4.  You come home, get out of your car, put your things down, greet your incredibly handsome husband, but leave the car running.
5.  People rub your belly for good luck.
6.  Your belly jiggles, but not because of the extra cupcake, because there is someone making it jiggle :)
7.  You can't remember what you what you were intending on doing.
8.  You are asked by those who know and love you, "How are you feeling?" everytime you see them.
9.  You long all day to lovingly wrap your arms around the wonderfulness of a body pillow.
10.  You can fall asleep and/or pee on command.

Dear Hughes,

You're almost ready to make your entrance into this world.  I just want you to know what a joy it is to be your mother already.  You are mommy's little blessing for sure.  I am amazed everyday at how active you are and your daddy and I absolutely cannot wait to see your sweet face and to hold you in our arms.  You have certainly changed our life, for the better of course.  I'm pretty sure we won't be the perfect parents but I promise you we will be the best that we can be.  We pray for you daily, and know that God has big plans for you!  I will treasure this special time that the two of us have had for the rest of my life.  We love you little man!

You are going to be a very lucky little boy, your MiMi and Annie are going to take care of you when mommy goes back to work and you have 2 of the best grandads too.  PaPaw will teach how to make things and play with you, and your Gray will be silly for you and tell you everything you need to know about football (he'll probably give you advice all of the time too, even if you don't want it; you'll learn to smile and nod like mommy does).

Your big sister Marigold is excited about you too! (We think)  She lays her head on mommy's tummy when you are moving around and never moves.  She'll be smaller than you, and when you get bigger you'll have to be gentle with her, but I know she's going to be very protective of you!

Lots of family will welcome you into this world and will love on you:  aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Mommy's Dr. says you are perfect every time we see him!  Take your time (well not too much) in there and come when you're ready, we'll all be waiting.

Love,

Mommy

32 weeks,,,and growing

Does that belly make me look pregnant?

How Far Along: 32 weeks
Baby Size: Honey Dew, 4.5 pounds, 19in
Total Weight Gain: 20 lbs-ish
Clothes: Totally
Best Moment This Week: We had our first shower, hosted by my dearest friends in the world.  It was wonderful!  We had a weekend full of laughter and good food.
Gender: Sweet baby boy, Samuel Hughes Oglesby.  Our little man will go by Hughes.
Movement: Hughes is quite the active one, he might just come out walking.
Food Cravings: Just food, and even better when it involves little to no work on my part.
What I miss:  I miss being able to get everything done all by myself.  I just can't get it all done anymore, and am so uncomfortable by the time I get home.  Fortunately, husband had been helping out.
What I am looking forward to: The old braces coming off!!
Belly Button: And it is no more.  Neither out nor in, but I don't think it's going to stay that way for long!

Have a good daisy!

Nursery News...Issue 4

Is Your Dresser Distressing You?

This is our dresser/changing table.  The dresser started out 1. Mine and 2. Chocolate brown with brushed nickel drawer pulls.  My sweet Stevie lightly sanded down the dresser and between the 2 of us we got it painted, and I'm pretty sure my belly gave the carport a good buff as I did my part :)  We changed the pulls to oil rubbed bronze.  Then one of my dearest friends, Haven, helped me distress it.  The distressing of the dresser did in fact distress me.  Just like to add that while we did this, the husbands who are wonderful, were inside watching football (just saying).

Stay tuned for more nursery news, and the total reveal :)

31 weeks...and growing

How Far Along: 31 weeks
Baby Size: Head of Lettuce, 3.9 pounds, 19in
Total Weight Gain: 20 lbs-ish
Clothes: Mostly maternity, but I do have a couple of non-maternity clothes, but they are bigger in size so I guess that cancels it all out.
Best Moment This Week: Dr. said I looked no bigger than a New York minute (Don't really believe him, but he said it...pinky promise)
Gender: Sweet baby boy, Samuel Hughes Oglesby.  Our little man will go by Hughes.
Movement: Hughes is quite the active one, he might just come out walking.
Food Cravings: Still loving food, but I have so been in the mood for soups!  This, I'm quite sure, has nothing to do with pregnancy, but totally seasonal.
What I miss:  So I do miss the semi-clear skin I used to have, but what I REALLY REALLY miss is being able to find a position that I can get comfortable in.  Had a couple of rough days lately.
What I am looking forward to: My besties from college are coming this weekend and hosting our very first shower...can't wait!!
Belly Button: And it is no more.  Neither out nor in!

Have a good daisy!

Nusery News, Issue 3

So now that the nursery is almost finished I think I'll give you a little tease until it's totally, 100% there.  This nursery is totally hodge podge and homemade.  No where else will there be another nursery just like my little Hughes' and I'm loving it :)  If you'll remember back to my first nursery news post I told you that we were doing a rustic farmer "concept" inspired by laybabylay.com.  So in the middle of the night I came up with this crazy idea to turn an old apple crate I bought at Harrison Brothers Hardware in Huntsville, home of this sweet lady.

The crate started a little something like this:

Ain't she purdy :)

Then transformed to this:

Like, but something is still missing
 Finally to this beauty:

Special shout-out to my handsome hubster, Steve.  He may roll his eyes when I dream up projects, but he sure does do a good job.  I didn't hear him complain, not once.

Baby Size: Head of Lettuce, 3.2 pounds, 18in
Total Weight Gain: 20 lbs-ish

Best Moment This Week: We now have a painted crib, and the bedding is on it :) YAY!!
Gender: Sweet baby boy, Samuel Hughes Oglesby.  Our little man will go by Hughes.

Food Cravings: Still loving food, but I have so been in the mood for soups!  This, I'm quite sure, has nothing to do with pregnancy, but totally seasonal.

What I am looking forward to: Getting the final piece of furniture for the room back, an old rocker that was my great-grandmothers...getting it reupholstered.
Belly Button: It's not really in, but not really out, and not totally flat yet.  Almost flat :)

Have a good daisy!

29 weeks...and growing!

How Far Along: 29weeks
Baby Size: Butternut squash, 3.1 pounds, 17in
Total Weight Gain: 19lbs-ish
Clothes: Mostly maternity I have 2 pairs of pants that are drawstring that I can still wear and 1 or 2 dresses, but otherwise its maternity all the way.
Best Moment This Week: Coming home to a husband who tackled some projects for the nursery (without being asked) and he bought and planted some flowers for me :)  Who could ask for more?
Gender: Sweet baby boy, Samuel Hughes Oglesby.  Our little man will go by Hughes.
Movement: Hughes is quite the active one, he might just come out walking.
Food Cravings: Still loving food, but I have so been in the mood for soups!  This, I'm quite sure, has nothing to do with pregnancy, but totally seasonal.
What I miss:  I'm really missing clear skin...most women get the nice glow, but the rest of us get acne.  I do miss being able to get comfortable at night, starting to have a tough time...thank goodness for the full body pillow that deserves it's own zip code.
What I am looking forward to: I'm looking forward to having the nursery completely finished, it's getting closer but not quite there yet.
Belly Button: IN, but I think its training for the next big magic act...the disappearing act.
